Fibrothal System
The Kanthal® Fibrothal® heating system is a highly engineered, modular thermal solution that seamlessly combines metallic heating elements with vacuum-formed ceramic fibre (KF) insulation into a single, integrated component. Capable of operating at continuous face temperatures up to 1,350°C (2,460°F), it represents a pivotal technology for the electrification, modernization, and decarbonization of large-scale industrial heating infrastructure. By replacing traditional, heavy brick-lined insulation with high-purity, low-thermal-mass ceramic fibres, Fibrothal® dramatically lowers thermal conductivity. This design minimizes heat loss, yields substantial energy savings, and facilitates precise thermal profiling across critical processing zones.
- Embedded Element Modules: The heating elements are securely cast directly within the ceramic fibre body. This protects the coils or ribbons from physical displacement, offering a robust setup optimized for stability and longevity.
- Free-Radiating Systems (ROB / Meanderthal): Features specialized element-support structures where the resistance wire or strip is exposed and virtually free-radiating. This ensures maximized heat-transfer rates directly to the workload, minimizing element-to-chamber temperature differentials at high thermal loads.
- Fibrothal® GSO: A high-power density module incorporating specialized Kanthal® strip heating elements. Designed to withstand severe operating environments, the GSO variant eliminates the need for expensive step-down transformers or external support jigs. It provides excellent temperature uniformity and independent structural rigidity.
